Our church is a church that has a mixture of people ranging from the ‘conservative’ to the ‘open to the Spirit’ but the direction that we are heading as a church is to explore more what it means to open up to the Spirit.

During a preaching series on spiritual gifts we asked Phil and Lorellee to come and run a day workshop for our church to explore prophecy and how to hear the voice of God. It was so encouraging! People (both conservative and open) walked out of the workshop encouraged and understanding that they can hear from God and he does love to speak to us.

The activation part was fun, safe and handled with a lot of integrity. We have already had church members ask when we will run another workshop! I would recommend the PAS for any church that wants to move towards helping congregation members open up to the spiritual gifts and live the adventurous relationship with God that we are promised by Jesus in John 10:10!

My name is Greg Douglas and I have been a born again believer for over 25 years. During that time I have been involved in many areas of church ministry, seen renewal movements and prophetic ministry some good, some bad.

My experience with the prophetic has been like many people rather general and a bit of a hit and miss affair. I have always felt that prophecy was a “wait and see” affair to see if the preacher will single you out for a ”SPECIAL” word from the Lord. This rarely happened.  I have also seen the destructive side of prophetic ministry on people which I now see had a lot to do with pastoral covering. Prophetic Ministry was the last thing I would have wanted to pursue.

Over the years I have been given prophetic words and have been encouraged by them and have actively prayed on them, but I always felt there was much more. 

During the middle of 2007 our local church was visited by Robert Holmes who was recommended by one of our church members to speak on the prophetic. As I was on the leadership team I was invited to meet with Robert for supper the Saturday night before our Sunday service. This was a complete eye opener. Robert took a completely unselfish stance on the prophetic going as far as to say that God had something to say to each and every one of us right now. What did he mean?

During the Sunday night service after Robert had preached a call was given to whoever wanted a personal prophecy to come out and you will get one. This was a complete shock to me; of coarse my family and I went out and received a personal prophecy. We were so blessed and were blown away on how accurate these words were.

Not long after that weekend the offer to attend a Prophetic Activation course held by Lorellee & Phil Colley was given to me. I had no intention to attend but God had different plans. It just so happened that my weekend was free and I could attend so I just decided to go and see what it was all about.

To say that my eyes were opened would be an understatement. I felt like I had been born again, AGAIN!  It was a "Shinning light Moment”.

Lorellee and her team were able to describe with sound scriptural backing that Prophecy was for all Christians and was to be used to edify, exhort and comfort the Church. I was not aware of this.  Not only was I stirring up a long dormant gift, I was encouraged to pray for others and listen to God in my spirit and speak out what He wanted to say to them. This was a humbling experience.

My life has changed form that moment and I have had many opportunities to grow and learn how to prophecy without the burden of having to “perform” or the fear of saying something that would wreck someone’s life. Jesus came to give us Life and life more abundantly.

There is such a beautiful message we can share with others that God loves them and is wanting to speak to them today. We are here to bless them through prophecy and not be afraid of operating in this gift. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to be released in the prophetic but I guess God has his time for each of us.

Finally, it has been a great pleasure to be taught by and minister with Lorelee & Phil. I have been challenged and inspired by their leadership and encourage anyone who would like to start activating the gift of Prophecy within them to go ahead and do a Prophetic activation course. It will change your life.
